Free Hugs Campaign

In 2004, Juan Mann began reaching out to random strangers, in Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall, to brighten up their lives. The effects were amazing and soon the Free Hugs Campaign became a global phenomenon, shining a light of hope in this age of social disconnect…

In 2007 the campaign became internationally famous with this music video by Australian band Sick Puppies, which has been viewed over 71,000,000 times. Today the Free Hugs Campaign has become a global social movement with the International Free Hugs Month is celebrated on the first Saturday of July and continues until August first.
