This 8 minute film, produced by Free Range Studios and hosted by Annie Leonard who brought us the Story of Stuff, takes on the electronics industry’s “design for the dump” mentality. It explores the impact of our high-tech, throw away society where products are designed to be replaced as quickly as possible and millions of tons of toxic electronic waste are created each year. The film calls for product take back, encouraging companies and designers to create less toxic, longer lasting products that are fully and easily recyclable.
The film was made in close partnership with the Electronics TakeBack Coalition, a national network of over 30 environmental and health organizations who promote green design and responsible recycling in the electronics industry.
