Cape Town creatives give back for Mandela Day

This Mandela Day Cape Town’s creative community from film makers to designers, gave their 67 minutes to helping transform their communities and build a better world.

Here is Green Renaissance’s Story

“Nelson Mandela gave 67 years of his life fighting for social justice. We are encouraged to give only 67 minutes of our time, taking responsibility for changing the world into a better place, one small step at a time.

We noticed some broken benches along one of our favorite mountain paths, so the Green Renaissance team decided to use our 67 minutes to repair these. We live in a beautiful city, offering amazing opportunities for us to immerse ourselves in nature – now everyone can enjoy the view. Go Play.”

Design Indaba’s Story

“For Mandela Day 2012 Design Indaba joined creative forces with the Boundless Heart Foundation, Cecile & Boyd’s, Xanita, AM Cargo and architect Y Tsai to gift the community of Blikkiesdorp in Delft, outside Cape Town, with their very own library.”
